Available spots
Service Description
The sport of Mantrailing is open to all breed and ages as well as all humans, no matter what their ability. No obedience is needed as we will be homing your dogs' natural ability to follow scent. Once completed you can attend any Mantrailing Session with any MantrailingUK instructor, worldwide! The first step to becoming a Mantrailer team with your dog is to attend the Mantrailing Introduction Course. The course is approximately three hours with dogs being works individually. Once a handler has completed the Introduction Course they will then be able to attend Trailing Sessions. These are held all over the UK by many instructors and can be booked as and when it suits the handler. Here are a few things that you should bring to your session; • A flat collar & lead (no extendable leads please) • All-weather clothes (incl. waterproof gear) • A harness preferably one that your dog has never worn before (please don’t put it on your dog until instructed) • A long line (8-10m), I have these to borrow • High value (!!) dog treats (NO DRY FOOD!) e.g.: wet food, tinned fish, Primula cheese, etc. (if you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to ask, this plays a very important role). Bring enough treats to fill both pots three times over. • Dog water and a bowl • If your dog is ball/toy-crazy, please bring their most favourite • Bring a scent article with you e.g. a small scarf, headband, glove, sock, etc. and place it in a small, re-sealable bag (this is to smell of you). I stock a small selection of trailing leads, KONG toys, and reward pots so please let me know if you need anything.
